Install your reshade presets and open up your game and set up your resahde as told through the tutorial! IF YOUR SHADERS AREN’T SHOWING UP, IN THE SETTING TABS IN YOUR RESHADE, PASTE THE PATH OF YOUR SHADERS IN YOUR TSBIN AND IT WILL UPDATE YOUR SHADERS AND TEXTURES. But, to eliminate that glitching in the neighborhood, you’ve selected the API as direct 10 which fixes that issue. It’ll still read your game as Vulkan because you enabled your game as a vulkan based game. SELECT DIRECT10/11/12 AND SELECT THE SHADERS YOU WANT. It’ll then ask you to choose which API to download resahde under. Resahde will ask you to browse for your game in your bin file. The tonemap and ambient light settings were taken directly from the original preset (because they were perfect). THIS IS WHERE YOU NEED TO FOLLOW THIS STEP BY STEP: I initially set out to transfer over the settings from a wonderful preset called 'HD Realism' by SplitCoreGaming to Reshade 4.0, but I ended up tinkering with the settings and created something new. Once you drag and drop the x32 d3d9.dll file into your sims 2 bin, install Reshade 4.6.1 - linked here
Since I have the ultimate collection it’ll be: The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSBinģ. Unzip it and drag and drop the x32 bit d3d9.dll file into your sims 2 bin folder. With this, you will NOT need Xenos and will be able to start the game as you would TS3 or TS4 where reshade will open on it’s own without an external application. Downloading & Installing ReShade ReShade is free to use and can easily be downloaded via the link below. You will be downloading a DXVK Binaries folder, adding the d3d9 file to your TSBin and installing Reshade as ‘Vulkan’ instead of Direct3d.
